Description
ReSOURCE YouthBuild is a one-year job skills training, academic, community service, and career development program for youth (age 16-24). YouthBuildcombines certification based construction training through the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) with on-the-job training through community based construction projects. Students also participate in Career Development courses, through which they develop resumes, and practice interviewing and other job seeking and retention skills. The academic component affords participants flexible pathways towards completing a High School credential. All participants are enrolled as AmeriCorps members and have the opportunity to earn a Segal Education Award. At the completion of the program, ReSOURCE places students in employment or post-secondary education, and provides follow up services for a period of 1 year after graduation.
