Description
This program prepares students to gain industry certification and ultimately work with patients in hospitals, clinics, physician's offices, and other healthcare facilities. Topics include human anatomy and medical terminology, medical office procedures, clinical medical assisting and professionalism in allied health.
Program objectives include demonstrating clinical care skills related to patient preparation, recognizing proper infection control procedures, hand washing, and use of PPE, explaining patient education, ensuring HIPAA, OSHA and CMS compliance as applicable, and discussing patient scheduling and related tasks. Graduates of this program are eligible to sit for the CCMA and CMAA certification exams administered by the National Healthcareer Association.
