Job Description

MEI Electrical Contractors and Systems Integrators is a Vermont based, family-owned electrical, fire, data, and security company. We strive for efficient and quality work and to creatively problem solve and to innovate. We are looking for knowledgeable installers of low voltage cabling and security and surveillance systems. Our company is looking for 2 security/low voltage system installers as well as experienced and/or licensed electricians.

Job Summary:   The basic function of the Electrical Apprentice is the establishment of quality electrical work in a timely manner.

Essential Functions:

  1. Perform all tasks assigned by the Job Foreman in an accurate timely manner.
  2. Follow instructions if unclear, put them in writing and perform as instructed.
  3. Arrive to work on time or before with an up-beat attitude and ready to work.
  4. Arrive to work with required tools and safety gear.
  5. Required tools and safety gear are to be with you at all times and bring tools home nightly.

  1. Maintain Vermont and New Hampshire Apprentice Status.
  2. Always maintain company safety policy while on jobs.
  3. Flexibility and ability to changing tasks.
  4. Personal accountability on all work.
  5. Take on new duties and responsibilities other than what the job requires.
  6. Maintain acceptable grooming and clothing standard for acceptable company presence in front of clients.
  7. Ability to be a team player working with other electricians to effectively complete tasks on time requirements.
  8. Minimum amount of re-work on all jobs.
  9. Treat others with respect.
  10. Any other duties that may be assigned by Management.

Physical Demands:

  1. BODY POSITIONS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for prolonged periods of time.
  2. BODY MOVEMENTS: The employee must have a full range of body movements including use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, computer equipment and peripherals; and bending, reaching, and crouching.
  3. BODY SENSES: Must have command of all five senses, sight, hearing, touch, smell, and taste.  Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.  These vision requirements in each area must be sufficient to shift in focus from one working task to another.
  4. STRENGTH: Must have the ability to lift 50lbs pounds with regularity.
  5. Indoor and outdoor work is required, and the employee will encounter varying temperatures.
  6. Construction noise will require being able to focus on each task from distractions.
